About

Undergraduate Rural Health Association (URHA) strives to encourage future health care workers to practice in a rural or underserved communities. The organization provides students who are interested, with a greater understanding of what it means to be have a health related career within these specific communities. It stresses the importance of rural medicine and encourages individuals who were raised in rural communities to return after graduation to practice medicine. The association will also work together to provide education for other Wisconsin students regarding the high demand of rural medical providers. The organization, as a whole, will complete service projects and help fundraise for rural communities that are in need of medical equipment or treatments. URHA's ultimate goal is to shape students into intelligent, passionate, and confident healthcare providers while restoring the number of practicing physicians and other providers in rural areas.
